Unmotivated Thursday

Yesterday I finally found myself to be alone again as my grands and relatives all took off the night before.  So I made a list of things to accomplish.  However, I found a small bottle of eye drops on the floor and while trying to find out who they belonged to ended up getting invited to lunch by my oldest daughter, Holly.  She knows that I can hardly say no to dining at my favorite Mexican restaurant, The Grasshopper.  On Wednesdays the enchiladas at $1.50....they are very good.  So after eating, she asked what my plans were for the day and I told her I had to mail the package of baby items to my son and then I was headed to work on sorting out my storage unit.  She offered to help...how could I refuse?

I headed to the post office.  Last week I went to Walmart and bought a shipping box and tape and then found out it is better to use the post office containers.  So I had the baby items in a bag.  I went to the counter and asked for help and pricing.  I had the best cashier ever.  She pointed out the boxes and then decided she would just get me on.  We took out the baby items and I thought I would need the bigger box which shipped for like $16.....she got this small box and I didn't think things would fit into.   Somehow she made them fit...it was unbelievable and I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen her do it.  It included a home made a baby afghan, 3 outfits, 2 beany bears, a rattle and hair ribbons.  I was just amazed and it shipped for $9.65.  I hope they like everything....here are 2 of the outfits...

After mailing the package I went to the storage.  Eventually they joined me.  I had planned on only doing a little and she thought we were going to do a lot.  Anyway somehow she talked me into bringing  6 storage totes and 3 boxes of stuff back to sort in my apartment.  sigh.....  the problem is there isn't anywhere to put
anything in my tiny apartment....so then this morning I pull stuff from the closets...now my apartment looks like a tornado hit it.

AND I have run out of motivation....I work a few minutes...then go and check email....looks outside....get a drink...go back....pick up something....lay it down....look at facebook....check out blogger...

so here I am.

I am desperately hoping that no one drops in.  Especially my daughter from Florida.  I think she is visiting Matt's relatives today....Yesterday they visited someone with an interesting yard...I think he is a photographer....here is a pic of Andrew and Tristan that I thought was nice...

and another....

Well....the stuff is calling and my tummy is growling....have a great day and enjoy this beautiful weather.

  2. I do the very same thing Ruth...start, stop, sit, eat, start again and do it all over. It takes me 10 x's longer to get something done these days. Love the pictures. I know you enjoyed eating at your favorite Mexican restaurant...I enjoy that too. Dont work too hard...it is your 'stuff' and it can go when it goes!!

  3. I think you should have taken those boxes straight from storage to the post office, where the nice woman could re-pack everything into smaller boxes! lol

  5. I have lots of Thursdays like yours on other days of the week. My classes are winding down for the summer and I need to organize or get rid of the papers I've collected over the course. I live in a small flat too and wish we had storage spaces. Oh well, there are more exciting things to do like spend time on facebook.

    1. I have a hard time deciding to part with things...not that I'm a hoarder...but I just think something might be useful in the future.

  6. Ruth, I like Brenda's idea! LOL

Cleaning things out and making decisions to toss things you really want to keep is no fun at all. Seems like just taking it back to storage will work....

  7. How nice that someone helped you get things packed in the less expensive box. Wow! Looks like you have a lot on your hands with the storage boxes. It may be better to put some back and take fewer out at a time. It gets too overwhelming when you have too much too handle . I've read it is better not to take on more than one drawer at a time or to pull more things out than you can put away in an hour so maybe it's the same concept with the storage boxes at least no more than you can handle in a day off. Good luck!
